Voice of the Villiages

 

Local residents, Vic & Carol Benson, broadcast a weekly radio programme called 'Voice of the Villages' on Swindon 105.5 your local community radio station.   Their programme focuses on the villages and small towns that surround Swindon.     The programme contains a weekly quiz; a mix of music and interviews with local organisations or individuals and a monthly Grow Your Own feature.      Carol & Vic are regular contributors to the BBC Community Radio programme on a Sunday at 5pm – in 2016 the BBC used 59 interviews, 60 if you count a seasonal repeat about Lydiard Turkeys on Christmas day.    
Thursday 10 August (repeated Saturday 12 August)
·         Earlier in the summer Carol visited local farmer, Chris Rumming, to see his new turkeys which were just a few days old.    Chris explained how he cares for the turkeys in the early stages.
·         More recently Carol visited the Kitchen Garden at Avebury where Head Gardener, Simon Brooks, gives his advice for what to do in August.
Thursday 17 August (repeated Saturday 19 August)
