Village Facilities and Services

Walking Maps

We have some Walking Guides for sale at £1 each, that were produced as a Millennium Project. The booklet shows 8 walks around the village in great detail.

If you wish to buy one please contact Cllr. Tom Pepperall on 01793 770734. Further, we also have a new booklet by the same author "6 More Walks around Lydiard Millicent" at the same price.

Millennium Maps

A Parish map was produced as a Millennium Project that shows the Parish as it was in 1900 from an OS map dated 1887 and as it is now from aerial photographs. It is embellished by delicately detailed drawings of places of interest. The first 50 maps were presented to those parishioners who had lived longest in the parish.

The Millennium Map project was funded, with our grateful thanks, by the late Peter Blackford a local businessman.

The original map, 2ft x 3ft, is hung in the Parish Hall, and a limited edition of 350 A3 size copies were produced for sale to interested parties.

They are for sale at £25 framed or £15 unframed. The funds accrued from the sale of these maps is used for various projects that enhance the parish.

I you wish to buy one of these maps, please contact Cllr. Tom Pepperall on 01793 770734.

The Lydiards Link

The Lydiard Link scheme provides community transport for the elderly, the disabled, and the disadvantaged of this parish and the parish of Lydiard Tregoze.

It takes the form of volunteer drivers, using their own vehicles, to transport those in need of the service, a free service that accepts donations, to places such as the Doctors, Dentists, Hospital, and other social or necessary services.

Other services such as home visits may also be available, please contact the Link Co-ordinators, Sheila or Avril on 01793 855842. Thank you.

We are still seeking additional volunteer drivers, or those willing to help in other ways. If anyone is willing to give up a few hours to this very worthy cause please contact our Volunteer Recruitment Officer, Diane, on 01793 772304.

The Lydiards Link is a member of the Wiltshire Link Schemes, supported by Community First in Devizes.

For any other queries about The Lydiard Link, do please contact our Chairman on 01793 770734.
