| The Charge.....Involuntary Manslaughter. |
Written 15/04/09
Involuntary manslaughter is the unlawful killing of another human being without intent.
The prosecution will show that on the 15th April 2009, the defendant removed 10 drain covers from the Parish of Lydiard Millicent which resulted in a serious accident that took the lives of 2 pedestrians. The pedestrians were struck by a vehicle whose front nearside wheel fell into the open drain causing it to loose control and strike the victims.
Ok, so the above accident didn't actually happen, but such a mindless act of theft could no doubt lead to a very serious incident and the charge would be justified.
Drain covers went missing from Greenhill, between the Beeches and Church Place and the Forresters junction and perhaps many other locations as yet unknow. If you can offer any clue as to who might have been responsible for this act please contact the police or pass your observations on to our Parish Council via email to
who will co-ordinate with our local police.
