Recreation Field Play Area gets 'make-over' from Councillors.

Written 14/08/07

As some of our parishioners may be aware, the Parish Groundsman ceased work suddenly in June - a situation from which we have yet to recover.

The Parish Councillors are very concerned about the situation, and decided at the last Parish Council meeting to take some personal action, for visual, practical and safety reasons. A working party of 5 Cllrs, plus two relatives, turned up on Sunday 5th August at 9am and spent the morning, not only in strimming the grass in and around the play area, but also in spreading the 90 bags of play bark that was waiting to be spread. We even scrounged a few extra bags from Toomers, for which we were very grateful. The result was a successful mornings work, and a much improved Play Area.

Our thoughts are now very much on the cemetery, which is a much bigger task, but hopefully we can find someone to start to tackle that very soon.

Tom Pepperall, Chairman LMPC.
