Parish Councillor Vacancies

There are currently two casual vacancies on the Parish Council. It is hoped that these seats can be filled a the meeting to be held on 1st June 2017. If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please fill in the form from this website, or speak to the Parish Council for further details.  (22/05/17)


Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Thursday 25th May 2017 in the Lydiard Millicent Parish Hall. This meeting is open to all residents of the parish.  (22/05/17)


Loss of evening bus service in Lydiard Millicent


Please note that the times of the 53 Bus will change from the 2nd April 2017

From the 2nd April 2017 there will no longer be an evening service between Lydiard Millicent and Swindon.

The last bus will now depart from Lydiard Millicent (Sun Inn) at 15.33 and the last bus returning from Swindon will depart Swindon Bus Station at 18.50.

Please refer to the Stagecoach website for full details of the new timetable as there has also be changes in the times of buses leaving Lydiard Millicent for Swindon in the morning and return from Swindon in the evening.



New Parish Councillors Wanted


The Parish Council are three members short and with an annual election coming up on 4 May, we are trying to attract new blood.
We are holding an open evening from 7.30 to 9.00 on Monday 20 March at the JCH Hall at the sports field, when Councillors will be present to explain what we do and answer any questions.
If you have an interest in joining The Parish Council, please come along and find out informally what is involved


Parish Clean Up


The Annual Parish Clean-up has now been scheduled for Sunday 5th March 2017 to fit in with National Clean Up Day.
This year we will have two work parties, one from 09.30 until 12.00 and from 13.30 until 17.00. We will meet at The Sun Inn for both parties.
The Parish Council Organiser is our Vice Chair, Alan Pfleger. Please contact Alan on 07765 4088664 and inform him of your availability.
If we get enough volunteers, we will also try to clean footpaths this year.

Notice of Vacancy


Lydiard Millicent Parish Council
that due to the resignation of Robert Baggs, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.
In accordance with Section 89(3) of the Local Government Act 1972, where the vacancy occurs within six months before the day on which the councillor whose office is vacant would regularly have retired, an election shall not be held under Section 89(1) of the above Act, and the vacancy will be filled at the next ordinary election of councillors on Thursday 4 May 2017.
The Council may choose to fill the vacancy by co-option for the period until that election. For further information, please contact the parish clerk.

Lydiard Tregoz Parish Neighbourhood Plan


Wiltshire Council are currently consulting residents and businesses about the area suggested for the Lydiard Tregoz Neighbourhood Plan. An outline map (Adobe/PDF, 903KB) of the area can be found here.
